Great examples, but there is a caveat to this. My car runs on Optimax and Millers always but I cannot really run more than timing 5 without getting timing retardation via the knock sensors.

So the thoery is great but the reality is not quite the same.

Each car is different

Hi Eric, a clog is a wooden shoe that the Dutch wear.

Clear as mud ??

p.s. it's one of those weird 'English' sayings ...

Back to the original Cats post, Mitch told me that they'd need to change code on the car if I changed to new down pipe/cats because of differing back pressures amongst other things. Give them a shout

Cheers

It's quite important to remap after changing to free-flow cats. I don't fully understand the whole process but without the remap the engine will run a bit leaner and the tutbos will get hotter. Additional fuelling solves both, and that is primarily what the remap will do.

For reasons I won't go into, I had the full Miltek system with my stage 1 remap for a week or 2 before going back for the custom remap. So I can assure everyone that a remap is DEFINITELY needed and makes a MAJOR difference.

Having been in exactly the same situation as Dippy describes in his final sentence above, I entirely concur.

Hi Tim,

By any chance, would you know which version of the Revo for RS4 you're now running ?

Eric
- RS4 V6 Biturbo Imola Yellow (2001)
• Custom MTM 460hp manually tuned by Peter Link on MTM dyno at Ingolstadt HQ.
• Custom Full Milltek: Sport-Cats / Mid-Silencer: suppressed / End-Silencer: reduced.
• Full Mov'It upgrade: Front 380mm - 6 pistons / Rear 220mm - 4 pistons / Parking addon.

- Joined the Dark Side (aka. Darth Elon) circa 2013.

Eric I could tell you, but then Mitch would have to kill you

Only joking matey... Not quite sure really. Just know from the bum dyno that it goes well, and after a week of driving a Grand Espace the bum dyno will need recalibrating when I get home.

Must say at Bruntingthorpe recently we were all a little disappointed with Vmax achieved, but there was a crippling head wind. 3mph slower than a Diablo aint so bad
