S2tuner, I believe you're getting confused as to how our system works. Revo code has to be installed at a Revo Dealer. If Eric had an SPS the only people he could lend it to for it to work would be those already running Revo software. An SPS - Serial Port Switch is just that, a switch that allows the user to alter the mode/settings. Revo software has to be installed first for the switch to work.
The software we do for an RS4 is 'very' different to that we do for an S3. When programming we use our SPP (Serial Port Programmer) to interface with the car/ecu, the relavent file is then selected from the Revo files stored on the computer being used.

Hi Kevin

Thanks for your time the other day. I'm going to see Simon tomorrow to check things out on my car. HOWEVER what is your take on this 5K "flat Spot" thing?

Kevin, thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense like this now! Initially, and from what I have gathered on the revotechnik website, I used to think that one just bought the module, plugged it in and that was it.

Thanks!

Nigel, we believe the 5k hesitation to be DV related. Tim mentioned his car suffering from a flat spot when we were at Donnington, it turned out both DV's were 'buggered'. We put mitchells DV's in and I believe it ran fine. Those DV's are now in Mitchells car and that is suffering from the same hesitation at 5k rpm.

Thanks Kevin. I'm becoming quite excited by all this now. I hope my ECU is the right one for the installation - I'll find out tomorrow!

PS. There are no power or torque figures quoted on the Revo site. What are they please and is there just one level of upgrade?

Nor me, no hesitation at all.
One thing I have noticed is that my new Audi/Bosch DV was restricting the car slightly so it didn't pull so well. I have just borrowed a Forge item and now it's going better than ever

New and shiny Forge 006's on with the never popular red springs!

And Tim, you were right! I can't believe how bad the car ran with the blown DV's. When you said hesitation I didn't imagine it could be that bad! I miss my 6 BAR fuel pressure regulator too! I need to get another one... Are you getting better mileage? I picked up about 2 MPG over the old Rob program. The avant-garde Rob program is most enjoyable!

Hi everyone,

My RS4 is going through maintenance and I asked them to verify both the DV and the MAF.

In case the DVs are dead and I go down the Forge approach, any preference between the 006, 007 and the DVR models ?

Cheers,

Eric

I think the 006 is for S3/As and TT you need the 007 for the RS4, not sure what the other one is for

Hope this helps
Can't beat a bit of boost!

Didnt want you to think I was being a drama queen

Cant really comment about the fuel consumption, since frequent short trips at moment. Anyway I'd rather have fun than economy

Fuel pressure regulator is working fine, Mitch. Yes you do need another one
