I have come from a mercedes and BMW tuning background so I'm slightly lacking when it comes to my knowledge of Audi tuning companies. The purchase of my car is only a few weeks away now and I'm weighing up the various options.
When I was playing with BMW's, I was amazed at how much difference aftermarket bodypanels made to the handling and drive of a car in respect to weight savings.
My plan is to replace as many of the panels with carbon fibre as possibly (More importantly, the front end) to shift some weight closer to the rear of the car and reduce its nose-heavyness, especially the bonnet because it'll allow me to reduce the centre of gravity of the car slightly too.
I have a couple of questions in relation to this....
Firstly, what panels (not specifically the front end but the whole car) are interchangeable on the A4-S4-RS4 B7 models, ie. are the bonnets identical and bootlids etc on a standard car to an RS? I know back when I was playing with BMW's for example that the M3 bonnet had the "power dome" and could be retrofit to a non M car although the wings needed re-positioning any most tuning companies concentrated on specifically the M cars which meants nothing was available of much quality for the lower 3's but they could be retrofit in this manner.
Secondly, what tuning companies make carbon parts suitable for the RS4? I know GMG Racing make a bonnet that is approx 14 lbs, is anyone familiar with the company and the quality of their parts? I don't want any cheap nasty parts.
And lastly, does anybody know of anywhere where I can find info on the weights of standard panels? There are some floating about for BMW etc but I don't know of any for the Audi, thanks in advance!

RE: B7 RS4 bodywork
The bonnet and wings are aluminium (unlike non RS models) - I doubt whether CF weights much less...

Something I wasn't aware of! Cheers for that, is this also the case with the bootlids because they gave the largest weightsaving on the 3 series beemers...
