Fuel Pump Walbro 255

Post by flashyg » Wed Aug 09, 2006 12:03 pm

Could any one who has replaced there fuel pump for the 255 Walbro let me know if it is fine to run on the stock 4 bar pressure regulator?

Also there appear to be many versions of this 255L/H pump which is the correct version for the B5 S4/RS4?

Where is the best place to buy?

Thanks G.

Still not fully resolved my issues but I am not Giving up!

Thanks.
G

Gordon, the fuel pump is different on the RS4 to the S4 (you know this already right?), but the pipework is different too. Last time I was at MRC, Minhea wasn't sure how straightforward fitting a Walbro (or Bosch motorsport) pump to an RS4 would be. I had one fitted to my S4 - made quite a noise, not exactly straight forward to fit and there's no need to change the fuel pressure regulator either.

Best place is ebay - I think the letters signify the fitting kit, but you only need a universal kit, as there's no specific kit for the S4/RS4. Bosch motorsport pump is more expensive, but would be my personal choice.

Apologies for digging up an old thread, but I just purchased a Walbro pump from Flat4online, one directly linked by someone else here for the S4. Is there any modifications needed etc to fit this or are they pretty generic?

yes fairly easy to fit.
Hardest part is getting out the cage.
On my car the access hatch is in the boot under the carpet.
Let the car almost run out of fuel to make it easier.
Good pump for sure.
