2015 RS3 ticking on idle

Hi all, first post. Ive got a 2015 RS3 on 56k miles, had it a little over a year, oil and filter done in august around 300 miles ago.
On weds evening the car was fine, I pulled it out if the garage on Thurs morning and it sounds like a diesel

No fault codes or lights, i initially thought it was timing chain, however its been checked on Vagcom and thats showing 1.68 (im told its to time to change at 5.0).
Ive dropped both VVt solenoids, both tick over on 12v, albeit im replacing one as its corroded.
Im going to check coilpacks and plugs when the new VVT gets here, however im.scratching my head to what this could be.
The car drives and pulls fine and noise appears to disappear around 2800 rpm and above and returns when it drops below.
Im not driving whilst I try and work out what's gping on, any input/suggestions appreciated
