Traction control light

Post by skirs6 » Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:03 pm

Anyone else had this. Even driving slowly on dry roads the light comes on and the power drops. ??? I’ll keep posting stuff until this forum wakes up 😂😂

Never had that on a dry road or even slowly on a wet road. Even with Contis.

Keep posting as I’m learning about the RS3 as it’s quiet enough I have time to read it.

I would imagine there is something faulty and false readings are being sent somewhere causing the traction light. Just a bit of a guess really.

Cheers

I managed to contact the previous owner today. Genuine guy and he had not experienced the traction control light issue. Back to Audi Tuesday to check

I had exactly this issue, 6 months barking at Jack Barclay Audi and then Audi UK, took car back to original garage and eventually diagnosed by Wimbledon Audi as a buckled wheel. Had it straightened and better but not perfect, eventually had new front wheel and it cured the issue.

Audi were pretty useless as unless the computer tells them what the issue is they can’t find it. The computer doesn’t log the issue at all.

Also check all tyres are basically at the same wear rate the cars are sensitive.

Symptoms for me were balanced throttle, generally 2nd or 3rd gear, happens on corners, straights when dry and no reason at all for light to come on and power cut.

I’ve send you a private message with my details and car reg so you can beat Audi up more quickly. I caught it in several videos if you want them. Audi ended up paying for new front wheel as they had been so useless diagnosing the issue.

That’s interesting guys as I had the wheels refurbished last week and both front were buckled. The wheels guys sorted this for a fee but I haven’t driven it much since will be interesting to see what Audi say as I dropped it off yesterday for various bits to be sorted

Well the car is back from Audi. I’ve driven the car quite a bit today in poor weather and no traction light, Turns out the battery had to be replaced plus the buckled wheels are now repaired so hopefully the issue is sorted only time will tell 👍
