Just hit 5200 and have just booked it in for service witch is just the oil change. They quoted £311 seems expensive for just an oil change?

My wife's RS3 needs an oil change too but she hasn't booked it in yet. My RS6 is going in tomorrow and I had quotes of £330 and £370. The more expensive one was broken down into £171 (inc vat) for oil and filter supply, then 1 hour labour at £168 (I exc vat).
So yours sounds about right. Ridiculous for many reasons but right I'd say.

Somehow I still managed to pay £260 even though I supplied the oil.

My dealer won't use customer supplied oil so I did the whole job myself.

There's good reason for having the dealer stamp. Aside from the warranty requirement of having a stamp, having a dealer stamp means that should you need a warranty claim down the line that's marginal, it will generally fall on your side through good will, both from Audi UK, and from the dealer itself if you're a repeat customer. The £ savings make a couple of hundred quid seem like small beer.

Furthermore it will aid good will when the warranty has lapsed.

The fact that I buy a new car from my dealer every 6 to 18 months ensures they look after me, I have never keep a car outside of the 3 year warranty.

But I do take your point and your comments are very valid.

Looking at the paperwork I'm not sure if I had an oil service or a an inspection service or whether I was charged for an inspection and only received and oil service. What's the difference?

Christ. So that's one hours labour plus vat plus oil filter

Looking at the paperwork it says just under £200 for labour + vat so £240 plus £20 for filter plus vat (or thereabouts).

When I called in the first place she said it was £168 per hour for labour (plus vat I assume) so either it is more than an hours labour, or as I suspect by looking at the paperwork they carried out an inspection service. I didn't find time to call them last week, I'll try and do it tomorrow. My MMI says 12,200 miles 478 days until next oil service and 19000 miles or 729 days until next inspection. I assumed if I just had an oil service my next service would be an inspection.
