Just been reading about how popular the rs3 is, and that Audi have been busy taking orders
This must reflect well on what the car is like, you would hope most people would have taken them out on a test drive before ordering ?
Shame it looks so dull, guess a drop and spacers will help

I think you might be shocked by how many people DON'T have a test drive before ordering any car

I'm guilty of this, but then again I don't necessarily think a test drive does much because you have to live with a car for a significant period of time before you know if you're going to get along with it or not.
The first time I'd drove a B8 was when i picked it up form the dealer. Same with some of my previous cars over the years; 1M (having said that I had no choice because they sold out before they were delivered), Mini fJCW, VX220 turbo, Golf R32. There's only two cars I consciously test drove before ordering and that's the S2000 and the TVR.
Some may say IMO stupid, but so far... Touch wood... I've never regretted buying after first driving.

When I used to work for an automotive consultancy I had the opportunity to drive several hundred different cars, some of which I thought I might be interested in buying. But on even a brief test drive a fair few would reveal traits that I wouldn't have been able to live with such as secondary ride problems, mismatched spring & damping rates, unpredictable steering feel, "all or nothing" engine responses, ... etc and even for some supposedly desirable cars just a complete lack of involvement.
That experience made me vow that I would never spend my hard earned £££ on a car without a test drive.
But each to their own, it would be a boring world if we were all the same.
