It may be just a 'Golf', but it's a Golf that's going to leave the RS3 and the A45 at the lights. Limited production so guaranteed residuals and it's going to be cool.

Audi service is equally woeful as VW's so no difference on that front.

If RS3 demand is as apparently strong as it is, residuals are going to take a plundering.

Just got mine ordered today! Had a car for an hour solo test drive, and <beep> me it's a beast! The pops and bangs on downshift are addictive!

Salesman expects delivery to be around March time, but I'm not holding out much hope for that!

Ticked most major options bar panoramic roof. Took a week to finalise the spec but I'm happy with what I've settled on! 8 month wait now! It will be worth it!!

Demand is unreal, I can't quite believe it. The one I ordered a few weeks back will be delivered this month. I reckon going close to March for delivery now. How anyone could hear the RS3 with the sports zorst and then order the four pot A45 is beyond me!

Blimey! Won't be an finance deposit contribution for a while then.

On a 1400m circuit that doesn't have a straight... I've driven Llandow a number of times - it's not made for cars like the RS3/M3.
It's all tight corners so the lighter Type R will always win. I had 10 time more fun there in my MR2 than I did in my 135i.

Like any car the RS3 has strengths and weaknesses, this test plays to it's latter. The RS3 is a road eating monster, not a track toy.

Mine got delivered last week. Daytona grey with black optics pack, supersports and pan roof.

Sports exhaust is something else. Been told it sounds like a supercar from outside.

Oh dear indeed. Coming up against one on a fast B road would be annoying. Granted the interiors are different but the RS 3 is supposed to be the most super of hatches now. Like to see the A45 time to compare.

Does the Type R have a manual gearbox?
