HI Everyone,
I've been lurking on here for a little while trying to find out more about these great cars. I've read a lot about of your posts and you all seem like a friendly and knowledgeable bunch. I've wanted an RS2 for ages and I collected my new (to me!) RS2 yesterday. It's the Gmund car and I know there's already been a bit of discussion about it and so it has ended up with me. I'm into vintage Porsche's which have been hoovering up all of my disposable income and have been running around in a 1995 A6 2.5 tdi which was supposed to be a 6 month stop gap 6 years ago! So out with the old avant and in with a slightly older one, lol.
Here's a pic when I collected it yesterday:
There will be lots of questions to follow!
Kind Regards
David

I must have haggled it down pretty well as they wouldn't even put any tax on it for me.
When I collected it, Stuart from Gmund said that he'd wanted to buy it himself and that if I every sold it in the future that he wanted first refusal. As I drove away I could see him watching it go in the rear view mirror. I felt terrible!
It wants a few little bits and bobs which I'll get done fairly quickly. It's had some new door trims fitted, but they look terrible to me and I understand these are NLA. I can't believe they were like that from new.

Congratulations....it's a nice one for sure but it was clearly not worth the £17k he was holding out for but glad you beat him right down...it's all about timing
Hope it's continues to perform as well as it looks....but sure you will be back here with questions before long!

Does look really clean, congrats on the purchase - I'm sure you'll love it.
Question though - do you know what suspension its on? Gmund say its standard, but its really low?

I asked Andy at GMund the very same question and he said he had no paperwork to back the suspension change up, plus he wouldn't confirm which parts had been used. One of the many reasons I found the guy extremely obstructive. IMO this is not OEM suspension, it certainly felt lower on the road than mine (which is standard).

Yes it definitely has a set of aftermarket springs fitted, which are green in colour (standard are black as far as I can tell).
I was going to ask what make they're likely to be if they're green? Maybe Kawasaki, lol. The springs look like they've been with the car a long time. The lady who bought it new kept it until 2009 and I would guess they were done during her ownership. It drives nicely not crashy or anything like that, feels very planted on the road.
The car's going to MRC on the 30th for a service and general check over, so they might know.
