Aero Wipers - HELP

Hi guys,

Want to upgrade my RHD RS2 to latest aero wipers but having problems with finding the right arm / blade combination. This is what I have tried so far.

Retrofit wipers work but are ugly....

Got a set of arms & blades from 2007 A6 avant, very nice design using 22" blades. Drivers side is fine but passenger side arm is too long and the blade sticks out a few inches past the screen when parked. Have bent the arm but still not enough, I know some people have used a shorter blade on the passenger side but that must look a bit wierd and would have to be 20" or less to work.

I know there are lots of posts regarding aero wipers but they are fairly old and focus on the VAGPARTS upgrade kits which are , sadly no longer available.

Questions -

1) Can anybody tell me which donor car (model and year) I can use as a straight swop.
2) Is there a matching passenger side arm for my 2007 A6 drivers side arm that uses the same fixing (am I correct that an A4 from 2007 would use the same blade fixing as the A6 from the same year ?)
3) What is the details of the upgrade for the rear, and will the washer function work as it should ?

Appreciate any advice you can give.

Thanks

PAUL

The fronts needed 2x V1J2 955 426 B from VW main dealer to get the BOSCH part.

I did try cheaper alternatives (non Bosch) but they came in matched pairs, left and a right where we need two the same. Bosch also looked the best, black rather than greyish, better quality look and feel.

The rear is off a VW Touran 09/03 onwards. 405 mm fitting 16". Montage No 10 This is the longer blade to give a full sweep.

You will also need new arms with the side pin fitment. Will have a look at the part numbers tomorrow and post them here.

OK, just checked the aero's on my car and it's running the same arm on both sides.

Two arms required: VW 6X2 955 409 C

This together with the blades listed above gives a perfect fit to the car. When setup correctly the blades and arms are 90% hidden from drivers view when in the rest position. Don't forget to get some new washers, nuts and plastic caps to finish off.

Lloyd,

I managed to fit a set of Audi A6 Allroad arms and blades from a 2003 car. Perfect fit and uses the longer 22" blades on both sides. They are porobably not as discrete as the lupo arms but I like the chuky look and they are an Audi part.

I paid £40 for the complete set of arms, blades, nuts and caps.

I later found a chap selling them for £35 if you are interested, I can send you his details...

I am now looking into the rear arms and noticed that the RHD touran parks on the right when the RS2 parks on the left... does this make any difference ?

Thanks for the help
