Vredestein Sessanta XL

Gents

Does anyone have any experience with these on an RS2? They're available in 225/45/17Y XL rating and, based on the reviews below and on the RS6 forum, they are very highly regarded:

Scilly mentioned the Michelin PS3s will be available in the summer in XL rating but just thought I'd throw this one out there as hadn't seen anything on them on this forum.

Ta

p.s. Has anyone else noticed how unbelievably slippy the Eagle F1 Asymmetrics are in the snow?? Worth being aware if you've got them....others have noticed the same:

There's an interesting thread on these in the RS6 forum right now.

Jesus that's a long thread! The Cornish fella sounds like he's about to burst a seal.

Thankfully my rear tyres weren't badly worn and I only needed to replace the fronts so topped up with 2 more GF1 Asymmettrics, they've been superb since I put them on originally in March.

Pretty sure I would use them again next time as the reviews on the Vreds are very mixed.

I think I'm going to try the GYF1 AS next, too. I do like the PS2 though...

Hi Guys,

will let you all know how I get on as I am going to try these out. Before buying my new (old) RS2, I had a Subaru Forester STI which I fitted with Vred Sessantas. They were brilliant. I figure similar layout of car, relatively heavy, permanent FWD almost identical power of 300+ bhp, and let us not forget they are cheap. Not so that I can afford to try and then throw away if they're rubbish but I least I won't feel too bad about it.

The car came with Michelin Pilots, good tyres ...wrong size. They are 245/45/ZR17s and universal agreement in that this size is bad on RS2s. So will be fitting 225/45/ZR 17 94Y Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas next week. Will keep you updated with progress on this thread.

Currently running Michelins but need new tyres myself, so be interested hearing more on these or any other recommendations. Cheers.

I have had these on for a few days now, and have just got the sheen off them. They are now performing admirably. In comparison to the Pilots they are alot quieter. I have been given them a bit of stick on some good roads in the dry and they are brilliant, just as they were on my Subaru Forester STI . At the moment Camskill have an offer on 79.95 a corner. At this price I really cannot fault them. With regard to wet weather I can only comment on them when I had them on the Subaru. The Grip was brilliant and I had to push beyond the bounds of sensible driving to get them to break away. I also drove 1500 mile round trip to the alps in some very challenging snowy weather and only had to fit the chains once and that was for the final push into the alpine village. They were brilliant.

In short I rate them very highly and at the price they are simply outstanding value. They also loo superb and offer a good degree of outer rim protection.
