Brake Upgrade Price

Post by Msaville » Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:11 pm

Hi there,

I am based in NZ but interested in potentially purchasing the 993TT brake upgrade kit. Im currently in need of front and rear discs and pads, and my calipers are peeling so I was wondering if this would be a reasonable cost upgrade.

No hope of getting these parts in NZ at a reasonable price so was wondering if someone could advise me a good price in EURO/USD or GBP and a www where I could order them?

Many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

Macca the kiwi

I came across the following web site whilst researching my upgrade options - maybe start here and see then if others can better their price.
qrsmotorsport

I'm sure there are others like www.auto-amd.com , www.jastraction.com and www.qstuning.co.uk who can supply what you want also.

You should also do a search on this forum for the various discussions on brake upgrades etc to see if you are happy with what you want..
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

There has been an extensive thread on this very subject on the Yahoo! Groups RS2list, together with details of part numbers, prices and suppliers.

Join up and check it out.

Hopefully over time RS246.com will take over from the RS2 list, but in the meantime I'm not sure its going to work well me copying posts from there to here!

If you don't have a log on for the Yahoo groups you may have to sign up via http://groups.yahoo.com/ first.

Sounds like a good idea, has anyone spoken to whoever runs this to see if they are happy to do so, and can we get the information transferred here?

Hi Bushy

Perhaps the site owners might like to approach the RS2 List Owner - RS2list-owner@yahoogroups.com - and discuss options.
I think Pantelis Giamarellos is the "founder"/owner.

Not taking anything away from RS246, it's certainly worth a visit to the RS2 list on Yahoo Groups - and its archives. The list attracts a broad mix of members from all over the world. Also people have added copies of articles about the RS2, which is another useful source of info.

I'm totally behind the owners/administrators commitment to turn RS246 into the ultimate resource for all things RS, but I don't think that it is necessarily an issue that there are two alternative web discussion lists for the RS2. Always happy to help in anyway I can to continue improving this site!

Great to have another Kiwi on board.

Would love an RS4 - however my "german girlfriends" keep me poor, so Im afraid I cant afford one!

In truth though Im a bit of an "porsche" fanatic and that is what drew me to the car - along with its rarity, performance and residuals (in that order!).

However time will tell...there my be an RS4 in my future yet...

I mentioned on your other thread that you should try TRADE PARTS in Auckland. Eugene who owns the place has access to everything. He is a wheeler dealer, so thats worth a try.

Else try:
http://www.ecstuning.com

PS, my wife is swedish, but there is no way i'm buying a Volvo or saab!

Hi Kiwi MTM,

I will try Trade parts. Thanks for the tip - hard to find some of the more specialised parts for the RS2. I have a couple of 911's which use similar brake hardware (my RS has 322mm discs similar to the RS2 upgrade) and it seems difficult to find any decent aftermarket gear for these cars over here. I end up importing much of the Porsche gear from the states and I was starting to think this way for the RS2 also!

Thanks for the tip mate!

Cheers
