Has anyone else had this experience?

i.e. the digital display shows 45 miles left in the tank but the old skool dial is showing the tank to be approx 1/3rd full (certainly not in the red)

I always err on the side of caution and use the digital display as the guide (as it is the lower of the two) but I've never had this issue in any other car I've driven.

And no...this is not a reading immediately after booting the turbo...this is a reading shown after 'average' speed.

Ive never believed the computer he lies... trust the little white dial shes definately more trustworthy Mark Trevi has some gps type wizardly gizmo and mentioned before that the computer is out by a fair old country mile.

Out in the sticks in ADU with the warning flashing 30 miles and me glancing at it every few seconds. Suddenly it went 30-25-20-15-10-5-E in a few seconds as if the tank had ruptured.

It's just a sadistic design flaw, I made it the ten or so miles to the next garage.

As a side issue, when short of fuel, am I alone in wanting to drive quickly so I get to the source of more petrol faster?

No? Just me then.

OK, sounds like I just stick to old skool 'technology' then.....I guess the on board computer of 1995 is a similar standard to the rubber key spectrum 48k of the 80s...

I'm not that smart, I just worked it out as I fill it up and the mpg is about 4 too low and the distance to go makes more sense if you're drunk and as for the average speed well it was showing 83 when I got to goodwood the first time and that can't be right surely.
I've got a Road Angel pro thingy and that just points out that the speedo is crap as well.
Never mind I just listen to the fuel being used and look at my freshly restored recarros, I digress a bit.
Only worry if you can't find the fuel.

You did well not to go on Sunday. It was W E T so I left Goodwood to go and watch veteran stragglers heading for Brighton. Stopped at Pease Pottage services. Carried on into London because the queue for the M25 was horrendous. Got lost in sarf Lunnon. Passed Wimbledon tube station twice. Eventually found the M4. Got back home around 6. Went to buy some fuel.
