It's a sad day, Alastair. We know how much you have loved that car.

As I've followed your good works with the car on these pages, gratefully received your advice and wise counsel and admired your remarkably high standards, I would say it's worth every penny and someone is going to get a fantastic car.

A sad day.

Whats the RS2 being replaced with Alastair? RS4 or RS6?

Thanks guys, Never planned to sell. Kept A1 as its been my daily transport. But priorities change. No idea as yet. Not a B7 RS4 as I believe there are real issues with FSI engines & carbon build up.
Price reflects the condition & the fact that 'low mileage' cars will all need the work I have done on top of the price. Mine is as good as you can achieve with a 14 year old legend !!

You will miss it.
I still miss mine nearly 3 years on.

Don't let the worries of carbon build up put you off an RS4, it's the same for all FSI engines and rarely causes performance issues.

I will miss it Glyn. No doubt. Its in perfect order at present with the recent MRC service. My problem is I need a car at work but the commute is 1 mile & work use approx 10 miles a day on frequent short trips. We use the landrover the rest of the time. I cannot bear to see it used longterm in that way.

It sounds like your daily use is much the same as mine.
That is why I have taken to cycling to work and for doing my visits.
As a result my RS4 has done just over 14,000 miles in 3 years!

Must be sad to see it go.
I remember seeing the car driving in Jersey with it's original owner.
He was interviewed in the local paper and stated his RS2 was " probably the best car he had owned "
Let's hope it gets a another good home.

May have found a replacement. Happy to accept less in light of potential good deal. If any of you are interested then make me an offer before I advertise nationally.

Needed space, some more economy & driver enjoyment. Audi lost to BMW. A 535d sport touring Carbon black with all the trimmings.

The RS2 remains mine. Not needed to finance the replacement directly however those who think my price too high should consider how many of these cars will need 5K spending initially. Having said that any sensible offer will be considered as I would really like it to go to an enthusiast
