Sorry guys ... the modelcode from the Audi RS2 is not B4 ... it is P1 8) coz it has a different chassis number as an B4 Audi. The car was finished by Porsche and not by Audi. The Audi gave only the bodyshell to Porsche and they putted the engine, brakes ... in the car.

Please change it 8)

The thread on s2forum gets some things right and some wrong.

Back in 1993, Porsche was not doing too well with sales suffering - Ferdinand Piech was in charge of Audi and the Piech family own a large percentage of Porsche shares Ferdinand is the grandson of Ferry Porsche and owns 13% of Porsche shares just on his own. He had previously worked at Porsche before moving to Audi. He was responsible for the program that led to the creation of the original Audi Quattro.
He asked Porsche to produce the world's fastest estate car by taking an Audi S2 and modifying it with lots of Porsche parts. Porsche had the spare production capacity to do this as they had just finished assembling the Merecedes 500E and used this production line at their Zuffenhausen plant.
Audi produced primer painted bodyshells for Porsche that were loaded onto a train and delivered to Zuffenhausen where Porsche hand built the RS2 using lots of Porsche parts, which is why the Audi RS2 is built so well.

Now you learn something every day.
Thanks for that, its' a bit like Ford and Lotus with the Mk1 Cortina (shells sent to Lotus and they did the rest).
