OK, I am facing this problem:
I beleive that the real-time consuption (litres per 100 km) on the dashboard computer is not showing up the correct values. In fact I believe it showing exactly the opposite measurements as it should. For example when I go full throttle for approx. 10 secs it reads something like between 2 and 3 litres per 100 km. Whereas when I stop waiting for a traffic light to go green, for example, it shows numbers between 15-20 litres. When the light goes green and I put 1st gear in and make a smooth start it reads (just for an instance) 70-80 litres.

Is the computer "braindead"? Can it be fixed?

i have never seen the instant consuption show me more than 50lit./100Kms.I dont understand how yours goes up to 70 or 80lit.

Also the instant consuption is supposed to be only indicative of the fuel consumption and not actual.I suspect it takes info from the throttle body itself

Is it showing MPG instead of L/100Km? This will go down with more throttle, as described....

Instant consumption is not accurate when stopped. It is of no real use IMHO.

Well it is definately not showing MPG! OK it doesn't really matter if the instant consuption when stopped is not accurate. The normal one is the important one, but this measurement is the basis for showing: the avergage consuption, the litres consumed from the set point, the remaining kilometers, etc. If I am not mistaken then all the other readings will be false as well. I go out for street racing and by the end of the night it says that it has consumed -on average- less than my wife's 1.4L Renault Clio on a regular day!! Can this be fixed somehow or is the ECU replacement the only solution?

By the way, how do you change from MPG to litres/100km ????
