Loads of places, but VAG Parts is your best bet for good quality bits. Berlyn services in Devon is another alternative. You should be looking at well under £100 for zimmerman or similar

Vagparts recently supplied me with fronts at £97.42 + VAT each and quoted £209.12 + VAT each for the rears. They charged £16 + VAT for UK delivery for the pair.

The rears were done at the last MoT and their replacement came as a surprise. As the car was in Audi for the MoT this was a costly mistake. Good for the history of the car, I suppose, and the difference in the hand brake has to be experienced to be believed.

The fronts are for my bottom drawer against any future MoT surprises and in time will be joined by a spare pair of rears.

Vagparts are good to deal with, pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough.

Sorry, I meant to say the ones I bought from Vagparts are genuine parts.

RS2 Brakes

Post by Commencal » Wed Jul 23, 2008 12:41 pm

don't know if this is of any help or just makes things more confusing but when i had my RS2 with standard brakes, i did a lot of searching to find out which discs fitted when i replaced the rear discs. After the usual high quotes from Audi.
In the end i went to a Porsche Specialist in Newcastle ' Tom Ferguson' armed with a Vernier and calipers and an array of Porsches and we worked out that the discs and pads all round are off a Porsche 928 series 4, RS2MAK can probably confirm this as he now owns the car and has all the receipts and paperwork. hope this bit of info helps.

And from Porsche the discs was allot cheaper i guess? i was looking for magnesium wheel nuts from Audi and they quoted me £11 each and had none in stock, gone to Porsche £5 each and had it on the shelf..... i can be a Currier for Audi will make a fortune....

i have bought my rear discs for 110euro a pair from a seller @ ebay.de called Ultimot.de.They are not OEM but are drilled and do the job.For the front i have the 322mm discs and when the time comes to replace them,i will not get the OEM ones.I will get some cheap ones and then have them treated cryogenically.Apparently a guy i know has done this to his RS6 discs and they seem to get quite strong and last longer! so i will try it out

Got them fitted and they seem ok but for the first drive to work i stopped at traffic and i thought its a bit early for someone to be lighting a fire 5.30Am normally they dont start till after 6.00 well it is GLASGOW. Continued on my way on motorway and after arriving at my work the smell was coming from my brakes wheel and tyre the heat was scary burnd ma wee finger but after cool down fine. Cant really tell how good they are as front ones need replacing think i will go to vagparts too many great roads up here not that i think the discs i got wont do the job just like too know i will stop
