Post by tom1 » Tue Sep 04, 2007 5:52 pm

Ive just had a phone call for the chap who is sorting my car with a problem.

I will try to explain as best i can so bare with me.

He said that there is a aluminium back plate that the n/s rear hub attaches too and it is fractured and audi uk say it is NLA......I hope that this makes sense to someone, has anyone heard of this problem?
At the moment i am buggered unless this item can be found, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Yes mine did the same. I sourced them from vagparts. Did both sides and while waiting did the bigr ed caliper upgrade. Its an integral part of rear handbrake set up so you may wish to do them at the same time.

Actually also did handbrake refurb kit (shoes and springs) rear wheel bearings new rear hub backing plates and you should get the rear calipers checked and/or refurbed whilst they are there. If you price the labour & parts it is always cheaper to get things done at one time In my experience.

All being done as you have said, back plates from vagparts will be toward the end of next week, unfortunately the brakes on the car had been a bit neglected but will be A1 once back too me:)
