rs2 dash illumination
rs2 dash illumination
I have lost the right side of my dash lights, including the external temp back light , any one experienced this?
RE: rs2 dash illumination
could be that the plug from the rear of the dash is somehow unpluged.you could check it out and also before that have a look at the fuses. Finally could just be the small light that does the illumination.I think they aer 10 of them for the dash

RE: rs2 dash illumination
hello. just bought an RS2 this afternoon.
a) the passenger side electrci window goes down but not up - any ideas? i'm guessing it's the relay so took off the cover beneath the steering column but don't know what the relay looks like.
b) can anybody tell me how to get at the instrument lights to fix a few blown bulbs?
thanks
andy

RE: rs2 dash illumination
first things first.I hope you like your new RS2.
Have a look at the s2forum.com which has an enormous database of all sorts of s2/.rs2 related problems and solutions.
1) Window doesnt really sound to me to be relay related, otherwise other windows would have the same problem,or wouldnt be working at all.In any case the window relay is a large one and here is a link to an ebay auction of one just to know which one it is:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3DBidding
Most likely it could only be a switch issue. If the window is working by the use of your switch panel only or the passenger side panel only or vice versa, then that could be it.Otherwise the motor could be faulty or a wire faulty as well.
2) for the dash bulbs to be replaced, you need to take the plastic cover behind the steering wheel off(2 screws on the bottom on either side),then you will see 2 more screws holding the dash in it's place.Be very carefull removing these as the dash plastics are often already broken and then you wont have anything holding the dash on its place.
After you take these bolts out you pry the dash towards you slowly and turning it to face the top side,so that you can reach the plugs. The plugs come off by removing a safety pin in the middle of each one,(blue plug with purple safety pin on the right and yello plug with black pin on the left + a smaller black plug without safety pin). The bulbs are on the rear of the dash,so another way would be to first notice which are not working before taking the plugs off.
