RS2 sticking brake callipers

I have just purchased first RS2, having looked for one on and off for a few years. I am used to the "big reds" as I have a Porsche 964 with them fitted. I also am aware that they can "stick" if left unused or whatever, but I've had no issue with that so far. However, on the RS2 the rear OS calliper is binding (squeaking at low speed) - could it be the handbrake inside the hub, as it is worse when I put on the handbrake a bit and the same noise is then heard in the ns brake disc? Then today, every time I hit the brakes a loud rubbing/vibrating noise was felt just at point of brake and then it went away. What I did notice was that the rubbing/vibrating was also evident whilst driving at normal speeds and was heard in the background.
The car has 77k on clock and has had FSH up until March of this year, so I was surprised when this happened.
Any advice on how to sort this? Also (and I've traced a thread regarding upgrades) any advice on making the brakes have more power - although the callipers are supposed to be really good, the brakes have got a soggy, spongey feel to them. They don't give positive, full on stopping sensation. Would EBC green stuff pads help? Are the callipers really up to the job - I would have thought they should be as they work twice as good on a Porsche 944 or 964.
Would appreciate any good constructive advice as the RS2 is one of my dream cars and this issue just spoils things a bit.
Thanks
