Refurb Brake Calipers or Replace?

Need to spend some money :(

Can anyone advise on whether to

1. Have the brake calipers refurbished to include heating the calipers to remove the lock nuts holding the shims in place & replace discs & pads or
2. Fit a new upgraded brake package

I would appreciate names of any garages who could carry out the above and a broard brush estimate of how much it will cost :?:

I ended up upgrading from little reds to OEM RS2 big reds rather than refurbishing as I wanted better brakes and to stay vaguely OEM. At the time it was the easiest option but now there are a number of people who do fairly straightforward 996 monoblock as well as other big brake upgrades.

Corey at www.quattronics.co.uk may be able to help you with refurbishing or upgrading but he would probably push you towards upgrading to monoblocks as there are not the same corrosion issues.
