Hi there,
N307RDL,Black LHD RS2 is/was my car and was given to a dealer(Mondial Motors) in Poole to sell on my behalf.Unfortunately they turned out to be a bunch of theiving BAS%/*?'s and sold the car and were planning to do a runner with the money and the money from 75 other cars they have sold for people.Luckily the police have now arrested 3 people and are in the process of recovering the cars. Now I'm not entirly sure where I stand on getting my money or car back and neither are the police at this moment but someone is going to lose out on this.So if you are offered the car just say no and if you know who has the car you may want to let them know what has happened just to for warn them.
Take it easy

Heard today of a mate selling his Honda S2000, sold it for 16K and it turned out to be a fake bankers draft... His problem is that his banked had confirmed it as OK and cleared funds so off it went only to hear a week and a half later that its no good and he's lost his car also. Thieving scum.

If your bank has confirmed All ok and they later cancel - take them to the cleaners!!! It's abou time they checked cheque signatures and drafts in detail a bit more often.
I wouldn't mind betting you would do well in a small claims court.
Good luck.

The car was brought in germany by me and imported it myself.I did see it on ebay after the dealer had told me it was sold, which raised my suspicions.I think the address was somewhere near london and could of been a trader. After trying to contact the dealer in poole with no success I phoned the police who then told me about the other 70 odd people they had done it to.

I have just spoken to the police again and their legal team have told them to instruct me that the car no longer belongs to me and that i will have to seek compensation from mondial motors(david black also known as eric rowen)through the courts.Although mr Black/Rowen has told his lawyer that he intends to pay back all the money owed to the custermers.Where he is going to find 500K+ he owes the 80 people i havent a clue.
Anyway it seems the car is safe to buy,me personally would stay away just incase the situation changes.
Once again what a bunch of Bast*&ds.

Have you had your own legal advice? Did money change hands? Did you fill in the transfer of ownership bit of the V5? All sounds very easy for plod as it stands... Do you / they know where the car is?

I think I know where Clived is coming from on this, and I'm with him.
The big issue regarding buying stolen cars is that ( generally ) they either still belong to the person they were stolen from, or else the insurers if they paid out.
When / if found by the police, they get held pending any court action, before ultimately being returned to the rightful owner..... and if you're the poor sod who has bought it in good faith in between times, tough luck - you lose your money and the car! It would be down to them to sue whoever they bought it from to get their money back.
Anybody done an HPI on it to see what comes up?
