I know this subject has been mentioned many times, about which specialist to use. but I still haven't decided.
It seems that when it comes to Audis, all the specialists are based in the Midlands, or the London area.
Living in Yorkshire I would like to know if there are any MRC-AMD's of this world, In my neck of the woods?
I have owned my rs2 for a year, and have replaced discs,pads and radiator. But my knowledge and tool kit is limited, so I am going to have to seek out a specialist in the near future.
Any advice would be welcomed from all you seasoned campaigners.
From what I've read so far on this forum, it doesn't seem like a good idea to take it to a dealer, sorry stealer!

Its a little nearer to you but not much but you can try www.billsmith.co.uk which is my dads garage, we usually have a meet there each year with the s2forum

Thanks Greg, but I need somebody closer to Leeds.
It seems we're only good for Yorkshire puds, and ruling the roost at football in the 1970's.
I'll have to buy a house next to MRC and all my troubles will be over.

I never thought I would say this but Harrogate Audi have just sorted my car out very well. The mechanic on my car belongs to the S2 forum and actually understands the older Audi.
I have the same problem since my specialist went bust here in Edinburgh but my parents are in Harrogate hence me using them. I will get my routine stuff done there at present and get Doug and Mihnea @ MRC to do all the complex stuff (which I will save for them !!)

What needs doing anyway? I changed all wareout parts when I owned it..
The other thing is, would you pay the aboves labour rate? They have bigger overheads than me= Higher labour rate.

It's just that I need to sort out the rich fuel mix.
ie soot all over tailgate.
mrc seem to be the boy's to fix the problem.
I just wanted to know if there was a specialist nearer to Leeds to do that sort of work.

Soot on bumper, mine does it! on standard map!!!!!!!

I will take it back to Automark if you want.. have a read about how he's very good at what he does on S2 forum, don't let that miniea mrc near it!

That is normal although I do not get it all over the tailgate just up the bumper. The standard RS2 fuel map is rich to cope with crap fuel etc.
I had a new exhaust 18months ago and its now as black as the original. Check the usual suspects MAF, fuel filter, oil use, plugs but IMHO its the norm with a rich standard map and 'racing cat' which consists of a wire mesh rather than extensive ceramic baffles.
When my car had an MRC map it still sooted around the exhaust but did use less fuel off boost.

I would echo the advice to take the car to MRC - Doug & Mihnea know these cars inside out, whereas I'm not sure AMD deal with the "older cars"?

I'm also in Yorkshire and regrettably there's no one in this neck of the woods who has a clue but I enjoy the 2 hour trip down to MRC, and the return even more...

All I was meaning was, the map it runs was done by Automark, In my experience stick one tuner at a time.
Soory about the spelling but i did go to comprehensive!

IMHO MRC are great although not so close you. I have no personal experience but I have heard good things about Mark at Automark in Stokesley/Middlesbrough, which is a bit closer.
