Hi People
Has anyone ever changed the petrol pipes that run from front to back, I have a leak at the back of the bulkhead where the pipes run down to go to the underside of the car, having taken out the offending pipe(no easy job)

I find the other two could do with a change also, but it doesn't look too easy , any help would be appreciated.

Hi
My leak was very obvious, there was a smell in the car but when i looked under the car (with the engine running) a small drip of fuel was leaking on to the ground about a third of the way along the chassis.

It seems to be a bit of a common problem that they corrode near the front wheel arch behind the heat shield

i just spliced in new sections of pipe using compresion fittings, chop the corroded section of pipe out and take it to a local pneumatics supplier, they keep all the sizes and fittings in stick. on my S2 it was limited to the section of pipe that changed direction up into the engine bay.

Thanks guys
I have purchased the pipes from Vag Parts and intend as Dave suggested to put a compression joints in to make it easier to fit all three pipes, I will let you know how it goes.

Hi people
Took me a while but got there in the end, the pipes from Vag Parts come complete with the brackets, I spliced the pipes as they go up behind the heat shield which made it easer to get the pipes down from the engine bay then connected the long sections under the car,
You know how one job leads to another, when under the car I noticed two oil leaks, one from the back of the engine and one at the oil cooler. the oil cooler was a pig of a job as the large inlet and outlet connections were solid I had to hacksaw through the unions and with a large scoket split them in a vice, fitting the new cooler was very easy.
The leak at the back of the engine was the rocker cover gasket, again sounds easy but I did'nt locate the gasket properly at the front behind the timeing belt pulley( should you remove the pulley)? on running the car I ended up with oil all over the front of the engine, any way redid the whole thing and all is now well.
All parts came from Vag Parts and I found them very helpfull, just need front discs done (a bit rusty after winter layup).
Any good specialists in Scotland or North of England.
Sorry to prattel on.

The full shooting match as far AFAIK my man. Worth a shot. Jim is a real enthusiast from what I hear and knows his way around our motors. A few of the RS4/S4 lads use him and I'll be throwing some business his way in the not too distant, as I'm growing more fecked off with inconsistent and poor service from main dealers in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, not to mention the unreasonable pricing structure.
