anyone had this problem?
unlock the car get in, without putting the key in the ignition there are number of lights on in the dash, one of which is a pic of a car with a key underneath. i put the key in the ignition and try to start the engine but it won't fire. take the key out and the lights on the dash remain on! i get out of the car and lock the doors then unlock and still the lights are on and the car will not start. SO next I discount the battery for five minutes then re-connect and still the lights are on!! Then i put the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2, then disconnect/reconnect the battery and bingo - then lights good of and the car starts!!
i have the factory fitted alarm with just a key (no remote infa red thingy) and a tracker
do these keys have chip in them ? is it all part of the alarm immobiliser?
any idea why this may have happened?
the has behaving ever since!!
cheers
