Hello all,
Having just purchased a RS2 I have been trying to make it as safe and secure as possible as I wish to keep it for a while! Does anyone know if I can get locking wheel nuts for it? Halfords et al. don't have a clue as normal.
Also am I right in saying the nuts have a thread of 14 x 1.5?
cheers, David.

RE: Locking Wheel Nuts
My car came with the porsche light wieght alloy locking wheel nuts, I believe this was standard. These alloy nuts including the locking nuts can corrode badly and disintigrate over time making them a nightmare to get off. I had to have my disintigrated nuts drilled off (wheel nuts that is
) with the help of a special porsche tool the removes the outerskin of the nut hopefully leaving the wheel stud intact.
When trying to get the stripped locking nuts off we tried all the usual methods that wheel thieves might use without any luck. So I suppose they might be considered secure in one respect but fairly crap in another in that they can stop you getting the wheels off as well.
Occasionally you see specials at places like www.design911.co.uk as robo said or at www.type-911.co.uk/ac_wheel.htm (you will find all the info you need following this link). Buy them when they are cheap, you will eventually need some replacements. I've got through a few sets over the years. Just look after them with a bit of copper grease or the like (I didn't do this at first), don't over tighten them and don't loose they key.

RE: Locking Wheel Nuts
cheers angus and robo,
My RS2 has no locking nuts at all, just the black alloy nuts.
I'll ask a silly question now and show my newbie inexperience, am I looking for 968 locking wheel nuts? or are they off some other porsche or are they all the same!

RE: Locking Wheel Nuts
When I last ordered wheel nuts I must say I didn't think to specify I just asked for and got porsche black alloy ones.
But I guess to be safe you would want nuts to fit Porsche Cup 1 wheels.
