Porsche 996 Wheels on an RS2!?!?

Post by richslay » Fri Feb 04, 2005 2:58 pm

Seen an RS2 with different alloys:

'Porsche 996 18" alloys with 52mm offset for improved handling'

Has anyone heard of this before? Sounds a very strange arrangement to me...

I saw that too. I think the reason the offset is 52mm, is because that is the standard offset for a 996 front wheels and is a common offset for Porsche wheels generally. The RS2 offset of 55mm is pretty unique for Porsche wheels.
Remember if you go for Porsche wheel you have to have the centre bore machined slightly as the Porsche standard centre bore is 71.6mm and the RS2 centre bore being 73.1mm, very close so only 0.75mm to come off all the way round!
