Hi
I have just joined the forum, I have an RS2 1995 (RHD) after reading some recenent topics I have descovered that I have new 245/40/17 SP Dunlop tyres, I purchased the car in exeter in September and have driven 1000 miles since (I live in Scotland). my question is I have Porsche GT3 sport design wheels and tyres 7.5j 225/40/18 and 9j 265/35/18 in my garage will they fit the RS2, it is a long way to take the Dunlop tyres back. Can anyone help.

Hi Dave, welcome.
The answers to your problem are difficult, do you know the off set of your 18" wheels?, You will probably need to have the wheel centers machined out (RS2 has big registers on the hub for wheel location- 73.1mm)
The 7.5 wheels will fit if you do the above providing the offset is ok.
9" is probably too wide,I have 8 x 17 et 52s on my car, they are very close to the edge of the bodywork. No touching though!
Take your new tyres back or sell me them!!! or get some 8x17 cup 1s.
Rob.

RS2 Wheels (again)
Hi
Thanks for the reply, the 9j is 52 ET and the 7.5j is 50 ET
I had a similar problem when I fitted these wheels to my 944 ie the bearing hub would not allow the wheel to be fitted, to solve the problem I fitted a 7mm spacer.
I have also been offered a swap for my 9j for 7.5j so I would have 7.5j all round, do you think this would be OK.
Many Thanks
Dave S

Thanks for the advice, but excuse my ignorance what is the register on the spacers? the 7mm I fitted to the 944 were from a porsche specilist and they fitted with no problem, the only reason I changed bact to my 17s was the rear was tramlining a bit, pleased that the 7.5j is OK
Regards
