Recaro seat adjustment

Post by alastairg » Thu Sep 02, 2004 9:26 am

The drivers backrest has some lateral movement which is a pain on hard cornering and is not present on the passenger side.
I assume its age related. Is there a way to retighten the seat before I start to pull the plastic covers off the base to find out ?

Alastair

If you say the passenger seat is OK check the bolts which hold the sub frame to the seat, you’ll have to remove seat to do. These don’t normally need replacing as the bushes on the sub frame track are very hard nylon, I now that my old 1990 20V Coupe Quattro (which I still see around, covered 225,000 not without mechanical problems though) that the bushes are still in perfect condition so hopefully its the sub frame bolts

Best

Thanks for that as when I checked again last night the base had Xs movement as well as the backrest c/w passenger seat which is solid
