This one has driven me mad since I got the car. As yet no solutions so I will post for comments.
Metallic rubbing/grinding noise at 4500rpm in second on/off load. Initially thought gearbox dying HOWEVER same noise stationary, in neutral,with clutch pedal in and out.
ANY IDEAS??
One thing I have noted and will correct is the under body colour coded disc shaped fastenings for side bodykit are missing on the side the noise comes from(passenger over left shoulder).
Or exhaust bracket or baffle loose/broken??
In addition the bonnet is slightly misaligned ie 2mm down drivers side 2mm up passenger side. Is this adjustable??

Just so you know!!!

Just so you know that after replacing the whole exhaust cat back the noise remains. Propshaft !! 'only seen it on an old Ur quattro'

At least I have a warranty to try to claim on !!
