Auto Air Conditioning

Post by RS2@KL » Fri Jun 04, 2004 7:42 am

Hi there,

Just wondering. My car is a 1995 RHD Blue RS2 (UK spec). It came equipped with airconditioning but with manual controls.

Is it possible to convert it to the digital electronic control type? Any advice on this matter is very much appreciated.

FYI, i m located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia & i just bought this car last month with 25,000miles on the clock.

Warmest regards

Nasim

welcome aboard ! nice to see new members miles away !

did you have the car imported from the uk or was it for sale out there ?

i wouldnt have a clue about your air con ! i thought the digital type was not air con equipped just climate control (blows hot/cold) but not really cold.

My car has the full LCD climate control, its the same as A4s and David it dose do the full freeezin blast. It is proper air con.
You should be able to convert your car Nasim,I think the climate control system was an optional extra. Its far cooler than turney knobs!!!!

Guys,

Thxs for d replies.Really appreciate it.Sorry for d late reply.I was offline coz got caught in work & stuff.

FYI, the silver car mentioned by tonyd is d other RS2 in KL that i know of. I didnt have a chance to test drive it so cant comment on that.

Davidp20v,my car was actually a private import by a wealthy individual who owned more than 10cars. I guess he just got bored with it after 9 years. I was lucky enough to notice it when he put it on sale.Imagine, only 25,000 miles in 9 years!

Lastly, rob20vurg, do u think u can get for me d part numbers of your digital air con system so i can do the conversion?

Thanks a lot guys. Please keep me in touch.

Yes, i agree. Even my mechanic has told me its not worth the effort. The best option as discussed in the S2Forum would be to take the climate control system from A4/A6 and graft it onto my RS2.

I'll have top persuade my mechanic to do it for me......
