Has anyone fitted the GT3 brakes on RS2. MIne has the 304mm option, but they are not adequate. Is the 322mm option good enough? Has anyone fitted anything bigger and better? If yes in which ally diameter? What are the part numbers? THX Nick

what abour rs2 upgarde from factory?
322 mm front
price was around 2000euros for calipers,discs and adapters?
and may be you can use your 304 fronts at the back when you order this part from audi?

I was thinking of fitting 355mm disks front and 322mm rear. Are the guys with the 322mm front brakes happy? Do they show any signs of fade?

I've tracked the car a couple of times per summer, tend to be quite aggressive in my driving, but never any fade. The tracks I've been to have been quite a punishment to brakes, no long high speed sections to cool the brakes.

Even with stock pads, stock fluids, absolutely fade free brakes with great bite and feel. Like a bungee cord, most fun part of the car IMO.

With 322mm brakes (and 330) you can still fit 17" wheels, but they are tight. With 355 I'd say it is 18" only.

So yes, at least this "322mm" guy is happy. Size isn't everything, the 322mm setup has good Porsche components, don't be fooled into specialist AP or other crap with bigger size. Porsche brakes are meant for street use, so you don't need frequent rebuilds, they are not that noisy etc. Go for the 322mm, GT3 330 or 380mm GT2 brakes.

The rears I have are the stock calipers with perforated 299x24 disc with different pad. Balance is good, even a little tail happy in corners. One thing to keep in mind, rear axle has less load, so you need to have smaller pistons there.

I also have the 322mm set up.

Very good on the track... I did 7 straight back to back Nurburgring laps on mine a month ago...22KMs a lap - so 154KMs of track driving plus a high speed stop on the autobahn.. and no fade.. no problems... stock pads.. stock brake fluid.

Maybe it is possible, but it will cause instability. Stock 304 mm front caliper has 36/44 mm pistons. Rears have 28/30 pistons.

Fitting the fronts calipers rear will make your braking balance rear ended, it will take 26% more braking force to rear. I wouldn't do it, since the car is already quite balanced when braking, in corners even rear balanced when applying brakes.

Normally you just upgrade the rear brakes with perforated discs and other pads when you fit the front 322 mm setup (included in the upgrade kit 8A0 698 203).

Lucky you - the Ring is nor far for you.

I drove the Ring with stsndard discs, but race pads - that was not bad too - but it tooks it's toll on the discs. I am now running the upgrade kit with standard pads - works well, although have not driven at the Ring with this set-up. I think it will be better balance.

You need 2 cables, one for each side. Part no. same for both 8AO 609 721 AG (about £19 + vat each). You may need some new cable guides also, part no. 8AO 609 761 (about £11 + vat each).

Does anyone know if there are different causes for sticking break pads. I've just had my rear calipers cleaned up due to a sticking break pad. Only I had a similar problem on my front calipers 6 months ago and I cannot remember exactly work was carried out. It was done during a service and did involve stripping down the front calipers. I suspect the noise I heard both times which was a kind of grating is caused by the same thing. I'm not fimiliar with the ins and out of break calipers but would be grateful to hear from you.
