BTW mine is still for sale but my advice has always been the same to people looking for their first RS2. You will not regret the car but you may regret buying a 'low miler' 'low owner' car without the work being done.[/quote]
IF only i had the money i would have had alaistairs car by now! Cant believe its STILL for sale. RS2s in this condition are few and far between.
Has anyone come across this RS2

Agreed...I have a polar silver one myself and would have jumped at the chance of this one (or indeed AlWyn's)....a fantastic car with 2 owners who clearly know their stuff
And agreed on the mileage, mine has 141k on the clock and drives so much better than it did a few thousand miles ago...it's servicing and replacement of key components and driving them regularly that makes these tick....not polishing and storing them
Hi, was .......... the best (but not the right car for me) was a 178k car that had had £0000s spent and flew.....From South London by any chance? I have a feeling that i bought that car, and used it as my daily driver 'company' car for about a year 1/2 . Great memories, including being followed home on the day i bought it by an RS2 fan who cursed me for buying one.. before he could be unique in the locality! Hmm, an AMD badge on tailgate caused confusion though, a chap who claims to know his cars took it to mean it was an oil burner. He followed me between customer sites once and later commented that it ran well for an old diesel and that it's economy probably compensated for it being a few years old. Likewise got told by a guy in a coffee shop that i'd done well to fit Porsche wheels to an old Audi.. 'couldn't have been an easy swap'? I left them both to their thoughts....
Some very good advice!alastairg wrote: Goodluck but some advice. I bought from the trade because I was concerned about a private purchase. It was a beautiful polar with almost unique blue alcantara interior.
It came with the wrong tyres leaking front shocks worn propshaft bearing front caliper pad binding etc etc.
Buy from a private owner who can show you the reciepts for work done unless you want to spend 1000s in addition to the purchase price. BTW mine is still for sale but my advice has always been the same to people looking for their first RS2. There are some very valid points in some of these posts in his thread. I am probably the only owner on this forum who has owned an RS2 from new since 1995. I have not added up all the service receipts but I suspect they might add up to very substantial percentage of the purchase price.
