LOL, Angus, a safe bet is to go with the K&N panel. When you are at the garage meet I will have a quick peek. I think you have the same turbo as me.

Speaking to mihnea he reckoned the RS2 airbox is better than a cone filter until you go for silly power, so go with a K&N panel. Porsche spent alot of time developing the airbox so im sure they have got it pretty spot on. a wider air intake to behind the headlight would probably help though.

Sadly I don't have the original airbox any more, so I am commited to a cone..... for the time being at least.

Although a little pricey (but not much more than doing a DIY version), I finally went for the Dahlback Racing filter kit and I must say it all fitted in to place very neatly, fairly easily taking me about 20 minutes and looks the dogs b*ll*cks. :D

Dahlback "said" they uprated the normal K&N Filter that comes out with the kit to a K&N x-stream filter RX-4990 which has an additional ellement at the top of the filter and should be suitable for in excess of 390bhp. This particular filter could be a good option for anyone how wants a K&N cone (although I may be wrong, it doesn't seem to be availble through UK suppliers for some reason. The neck of the filter is 76mm it will stretch and it seems to fit directly on the MAF without using the S/S hose.

The S/S filter to MAF hose bolts into an existing hole in the wheel arch as does the heat sheild.

I ordered it on monday and got it today (thursday), cost around £185 inc postage and without VAT (Sweedish VAT is about 25%!!! and if you can supply them with a UK VAT number at the time of ordering they will deduct the VAT from the price).

Glyn

I can hear a little more going on than i did with the ramair foam filter, but not intrusivley so. Personally I like all the noises, I know its not to everyones taste but I've had a cone filter for so long that the car wouldn't be the same without the wooshes and phoffffs.

With the K&N cone I can hear the air being drawn a little more than before and the Forge DV is a tad louder, I suppose becuase the K&N cotton ellement is that much thinner than the thick foam of the ramair. Previously I had a heat sheild with a cover that totally surounded the ramair filter but now I'm just using the heatsheild that came with the Dahlback kit so that also might also allow the noises to be louder as well.

All in all I think it sounds great and I am happy with the Dahlback kit.

Incidently, even with my current low boost problems not allowing me to boost past 0.6 bar, I think I am noticing a very slight improvement in performance and I suppose that is the real reason for doing this.
