Just an update on my RS2 search so far:
The blue one at Fontain sold before they actually got it in! [img]images/graemlins/boohoo.gif[/img]
The black one in Basingstoke sold on Wednesday - they guy took £10,200 for it from a dealer!! He had advertised it for £11,995, but apparently need to move it on after a losing his license after a 9 pointer on the M3 which pushed him over the top & came with a hefty fine also - the joy of GATSOs. For whatever reason that was either one hell of a bargain or there was something up with that car. I guess the dealer will be trying to turn a nice profit on it so it will probably re-appear in the classifieds soon.

So I have decided at present to give the 300 mile round trip to Macclesfield a miss this weekend and try and be a bit more patient.
The Laser red RS2 in Leamington Spa sounds a cracking car, but it is my least favourite colour - so giving me a bit of a dilemma. [img]images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Don't ask me? That is what the guy told me on the phone anyway - I think the speed was in excess of 100 mph, hence the disqualification & big fine.

Well, I went to have a look at the Laser Red RS2 in Leamington about an hour ago. I have mailed you with my number if you want to discuss.

RS2s look pretty good in any colour. The red one seems a really good car from what Matt says - must be worth a look at least. Let us know what you decide.

Mine's an early RS2 and has the CGR gearbox. It's survived 130,000 + miles. On occasion get a noise at high revs in first - but as I mostly tend to shift up from first at lower revs, it's not really an issue. QST said that even with this fault the gearboxes hadn't been known to fail but some people chose to change 'cos of noise. Was going to get the gearbox replaced earlier this year - but never got round to it, and 12,000 miles happy driving miles later, I don't see any point.

Well next year's the 10th anniversary of the RS2 - sounds like a good excuse for a large RS246 meet with as many RS2s as we can muster.

There'll be a small gathering of S2s - plus a couple of RS2s - at the S2 Forum Rolling Road Session on Monday 15 December. See Greg's post in the Meets forum for more info.
