Door trims
Door trims
As you can see from other threads, my RS2 is having a bit of an overhaul. Once this is done, I need to replace the driver's lower door trim - any tips on a decent paint Shop who can match the paint much appreciated.
In fact, I may aswell get it ordered, painted and sent down to the guy who's dong the other work (he says he can't trust any paint Shop near him to mach the colour).
1. If I replace one, should I replace all? Not sure of logic as ey are separate items and can be done as and when as far as I can see
2. Anyone know best source and part nos?
3. Any other tips for door trims?
Thanksfor any pointers

149.76 (incl VAT) from main dealer. Ouch. - 2 days to arrive, which isn't too bad.
I got the info from scillyisles' post on S2 Forum:
"They are still available from Audi as i had the drivers one and rear passenger one replaced in May this year. Just looking at the invoice the part numbers listed are 8A0853960AGRU priced at £119.25 which I think is the drivers door one and 8A0853969AGRU priced at £104.33 which is the rear passenger door. They would then need spraying to match the car which cost £150 at Audi prices."
I have a follow-on question: only one of the clips has come off - the moulding itself is sound. Given that these are available separately, do I just need new clips?

Re: Door trims
Hello all, I've had my RS2 since April this year, awesome to finally own one. Amongst a few other jobs to do are the lower door trims, 3/4 are shot and in need of replacing. I'm in the pgrocess of making up moulds for these as I gather they are no longer available. I can potentially make them in epoxy / glass for painting or epoxy & carbon for show. I need to get the first set made which will take a couple of weeks I hope. If you might be interested in a set of 4 pieces (no end caps) please let me know, not sure what price will be yet, I need to be sure the finished item is up to scratch before I commit.
Happy motoring...

Re: Door trims
All door trims are available from Audi Tradition.
For the new production... Last 5 years I read the announces about custom trims but only Audi can reproduce them this year. I think the problem i bit more complicated than expected.

Re: Door trims
If you posted this on the s2forum you'll probably get a huge interest. There was a guy doing moulds but didn't ever get to completion, about 100 folks expressed interest, price was about 300EUR for the set I think. I am in the process of re-furbishing the rubbers on mine after cleaning out the rotten remains of the metal mild steel runners, and trying to get new metal runners made up in Stainless.
Depending on quality and price, I'd be interested, are you looking to include the metal runners as per OEM or just stick to the doors directly?
Audi Tradition were only selling the rear sections but I head as above you can get them again, but it's about £1100 for the set, which will need replacing after another 5 yrs.

Re: Door trims
What part #'s did you use to search for them on Audi tradition? The ones that are NLA don't bring up anything on the Audi Tradition website
