Recommended Oil Brands

Post by tuckerpr32 » Sun Apr 04, 2004 5:42 pm

Hi,

Looking to change the oil for the first time. RS2 manual specifies "improved Lubricity Multigrade Oils" SAE 5W-30/5W-40 or SAE 10W-30/10W-40.

What brand names does everybody use?

IGOL Ceramic F1 seems to be the better choice for RS2!
Don't know if you can find it in UK.

I wouldn't use 0W oils, as they are too thin for the engine -it was designed for 5W or 10W. Coincidence or not, when my engine was blown a couple of years ago in service, they had put in 0W-30 Castrol.

Anyway, I've been using Castrol 10W-60 in the summer, and Mobil 1 5W-50 in the winter.

Im currently using Millers CFS 10W-60 which seems to be working very nicely, just done an oil change this weekend again with the same stuff so definetly recommend it.
