Saw another RS Blue RS2 up ahead of me on the road on Sunday in Barnes, SW London - reg no. UIW + 3 digits, which seemed familiar (maybe seen an advert for it some time). I was in mine, and we drove tail-to-tail for a mile or so, which was slightly odd - an 'out of car experience', I suppose. It must have looked like a Sunday club outing. We got into separate filter lanes at a set of lights, and as I pulled alongside, well, nothing actually. Not even a flinch of recognition from the lady driving it. I then pretended not to notice so that I didn't look like a complete tit in front of the family, so to an observer there were two identical-spec RS2s side-by-side at the lights seemingly oblivious to each other. Odd, as I said.
Or, given my wife's underwhelming response to another blue RS2 coinciding on the same stretch of tarmac, perhaps not.
Odd encounter with RS Blue RS2
Re: Odd encounter with RS Blue RS2
Had a simular encounter at the beach a couple of years back...drove into the car park to spot another polar RS2 sitting to my left with a space beside it so parked up. Had never seen the car and didnt recognise the reg and most annoyingly didnt have a camera with me. Hung about unloading cool box blankets etc very slowly but nobody came back to it. Did a few trips back to the car but no sign of the owner. When we eventually went to leave it was driving out of the gates and i quickly got the wife and children into the car and caught up with it finally at a roundabout where i pulled along side and beeped my horn and waved at the driver who, instead of waving back or acknowledinging me, gave me a look like id just spoilt their day out.
My wife used to get annoyed when people beeped her when she was driving the RS2...always men apparently...personally not sure if that was because of the car or her driving though lol...there is something about seeing an attractive lady driving a performance car though isnt there.

Re: Odd encounter with RS Blue RS2
Its usually because its the wife/partner driving their other halfs car - they've borrowed it so to them its 'just a car', and its just some nutter beeping and waving at them.

Nogaro Blue RS2 - Milltek, Bilsteins, Big Reds.
Re: Odd encounter with RS Blue RS2
Apparently common as muck these RS2
Seriously though, it is a bit weird. You are making a bit of a statement when you buy an RS2 - it's not the sort of car you buy by accident - and you'd expect a bit of recognition from other owners. I even get flashed and thumb-up in my classic rangey...

Re: Odd encounter with RS Blue RS2
When I had Blue there was another RS Blau RS2 locally. We finally got to say hello on a very snowy day when we were crawling in opposite directions on the A228 - with quattro doing its stuff. Couldn't resist winding the window down and complement the other driver on his nice car
She was very much my car - and I was very proud of her. Him indoors was allowed to drive her on occasion
