The condenser I bought (from a company called Autokool in Chesterfield) was in fact the wrong part. It was advertised to fit the S2 & RS2 but it actually has a thread on it that no-one can find a connection for (the thread size is M22 x 1.75).

So I'm £200 worse off (parts & labour) and getting increasing pished off with this kind of crap service. They refuse to refund me too despite the fact the condenser has only been out of the box for 3 weeks and only just fitted to the car. AVOID AUTOKOOL!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm now taking DH's advise and have PMd s2Avant on the s2forum, let's see what comes of that.

Desparate to get this sorted for a September holiday.

So to confirm what I still need:

New Air Con Condenser
Replacement Pipe (that connects the compressor to the condenser)

If anyone can help, please let me know

2.5years into RS2 ownership and FINALLY we have air con and what a difference that makes. Sunroof and windows is all fine when cruising round but when you're belting down the M6 and a little more speed it's a no-no unless you want to burst your eardrums.

The straw that broked the camel's back was being stuck on a dual carriage way in Newbury in 25 degree heat, it was gridlock and the car was sweltering, I turned round to check on my daughter and she'd thrown up all over the seat  I'm sure this was down to being totally overheated so needed to get this sorted as a matter of urgency.

So it's had a new condenser (supplied by Quattro Corner), a new Valeo Compressor (supplied by some very helpful guys on EBay , and a new air con pipe. Thanksfully the drier and some other pipe had been replaced just before I bough it so the expense ended there. Since my last update the final slap in the face was a new air con pipe - part number 8A0 260 701 AF which set me back not far off £200...for a pipe!

Anyway all is well now and please feel free to drop me a PM if you need any help with yours as this has been a long and painful process and I don't want anyone else to have to mess around like I did.
