My RS is up for sale

Hi Guys just to let you know that my superb RS2 is up for sale. I have basically been offered a mint Porsche 963 Turbo and this was the next car on my rather extensive list of cars I must own before I pop my clogs.

So this basically means my Polar Silver RS2 is up for sale. I wasn't planning on even looking until 2012 for the 964 but its an offer I can't refuse and as I am not blessed with huge pots of wedge the RS has to go. Obviously someone will benefit from all the work I've had done but thats how things go sometimes.

Had a gander at the ad and photos - looks beautiful. I've had a couple of aborted attempts at getting my car detailed - each time the guys haven't turned up for an appointment. Seems I'm just too remote (London). Anyway, your paint looks like liquid metal - lovely.

Which alarm did you get? I have been looking at similar, but baffled by choice.

I got the alarm from GAP security. You can find them here. http://www.gapsecurity.co.uk/ I went for the Clifford Avant Guard 5.5. I did some research before choosing. Not the cheapest out there but fully featured and the insurance companies love it.

The guy who did my detail is www.Driveandshine.co.uk. I would definitely say he's worth travelling to and really knows his stuff. He took those flickr photos too. Talented chap.

Did the alarm run down the battery over time? That would be my worry, though I saw it had some sort of car start system to recharge it - is that right?

And was it straightforward to fit?

Graham,

I got GAP to fit it. The £699 included fitting and they come to you to do it.

I've left my car for several weeks and I have never had any issues with the battery or starting.

BTW guys does anyone think I have overpriced the RS. I want to be competitive but it is a good one so I don't want to sell it cheap. Appreciate some guidance if you think so.

Having bought one just over a year ago, I'd say that this is a very fair price indeed, as described, particularly against some that are out there.

I have just reduced the price on my car on pistonheads to £12500. It's a bit drastic but the guy I am buying the Porsche off is getting a bit impatient. Anyway long story short my beautiful RS2 is now a very serious bargain. If you know of an enthusiast who's interested please let them know.

Am being a bit pragmatic if the 964 goes to someone else then I'll keep my RS2 and still be happy. Either way I win.

my RS2 is now on Ebay. Hopefully I'll get some more serious takers. Had a few nibbles and long conversations but no one has bitten yet. Also had one audacious scammer trying to get me to reveal personal bank details so that he can transfer money directly but first wanted me to send him a nominal amount.

The car has a very sensible reserve on it so if it gets to that and no further someone is going to get one hell of bargain.

Really hoping that it goes to a real enthusiast.

I bought my Polar Silver beast 2 years ago now and have seen a couple of good ones since....Alwyn and Alastair's spring to mind but yours looks like a real belter. I'm VERY surprised that this hasn't sold yet. Wasn't this the one that came from the dealer in Grimsby??

Yes Tom it is. She's a bit of a looker alright. I really wasn't planning on getting rid especially after spending out but at the moment I can't afford two cars. I will definitely be getting another when I am rich and infamous. It really has exceeded all of my expectations. I am actually in the process of getting a new garage and drive built hence the major squeeze on the finances. Every time I look at the RS there is a very real pang of doubt but the other car is calling me.

Guys, I now have a week to go before my option on the 964 runs out, and after my conversation today with the owner it appears that he has a very genuine solid buyer waiting in the wings. Due to this fact I have come to the difficult decision to put my pride and joy out to members of this forum and the S2forum for a week for the for just £10,000. This is a no offers deal as I need almost exactly 10k to make up the cost of the 964. If one of you is in need of a good one and in a position to buy then this could be your very lucky day.

If the car is not sold I'll be keeping it for a while longer and doing a few cosmetics to keep me happy.
