New owner - finally.

Post by pipesupporter » Mon Apr 26, 2010 11:38 am

Hi All

Been following all the discussions for a while now and thoroughly enjoy reading them , very informative. Long been a desire to own an RS2 , ever since seeing a brand new one , Nogaro Blue in a ski resort all those years ago. Anyway , finally got hold of one back in November , sorry to be boring but blue with blue interior , the only colour combination to have imho. It was from pistonheads , the one with german style plates , around the Birmingham area. Ever since , it seems to have not stopped raining but the sun is out and finally got to unleash it. And it is everything you guys have been going on about , that surge is addictive , glad the brakes work well too.

Anyhow , got to work cleaning up all the nooks and crannies , not that it needed much , and got stuck into the engine bay , very careful not to over clean , mainly elbow grease and some engine cleaner from autoglym , followed instructions , very careful with cleaning off the residue , not much rinsing.

Car fine afterwards , went out for a blast , no problems ,stopped and had some lunch , came home , and then ....very lumpy at low revs , pulling away and no boost.

All you experts ,

Any ideas , maybe some water did get into some thing electrical

Haven’t got Vagcom , (thinking of getting it though) is it straightforward to use

Any garages recommended in the Romford area for this problem and future servicing.

Design911 are a Porsche independent near me , would a Porsche independent be better than an Audi independent for these cars.

Should have made myself known earlier but couldn’t join in until now.

Look forward to meeting up some time in the future.

Could just be damp around the plugs. Take the cover off and dry everything in sight - ideally with an airline or hair dryer. Worth trying that first as its easy and free!
A lotta people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.
