MAF to Turbo pipe

Post by Greg_S » Wed Nov 12, 2003 4:09 pm

Hi all,

In middle of doing a turbo upgrade etc on my S2 and trying to keep the standard airbox because it will shield better from the heat than most induction setup's. Problem i have is the MAF to turbo pipe because the new turbo has inlet dia of 70mm. where as standard is a fair bit smaller.

Ive been in touch with SFS performance for them to price up making the pipe but need to see if any interest in other people buying this pipe?

Basically it will replace the standard pipe and can be tailored to suit the turbo because they can adjust the inlet dia for the turbo.

let me know if anyone interested

Yep, thats just what im after. Except without the pipe coming off for the breather because putting a catch tank setup in instead.

where did you get that?

is the turbo end dia 70mm? the MAF end do you just use a silicone 90 degree or what?

thanks

Greg - that metal pipe is what I have(mine is black though) - it is designed so you can connect the original rubber hose to it (after you chopped it in half)

I have blocked one of the holes on it. I am actually using the smaller one to connect to the diverter - it's in a more convenient position.

oh right, didnt realise it was just an adaptor. How do you have it connected onto the turbo?

The turbo has a rubber o-ring on it - the adapter is a tight fit over that - it has 2 tapped holes with 2 grub screws to hold it on the turbo.

Speak to Mihnea if you are after one.

I Reckon ive found a way of retaining the original pipe, and increasing its diameter so that it will fit the turbo. will take a pic once its all done.

I got in touch with tots and they wanted me to buy a turbo aswell to get the intake pipe bit

Been busy fitting bits but had problems with studs for manifold so thats held me up by a day or two
