Just take care. There are several recorded incidents involving the inner sidewall & the suspension. Remember the tyre will grow with speed & ambient temperature.

Agreed - there are NO 245/40 tyres that are approved by the tyre manufacturer for fitment on the 7" rims that the RS2 has. This is irrespective of the likelihood of the tyre fouling the inner front suspension.

I ummed and ahhed over the tyres for while having read stacks of advice on various forums but it was this that finally sealed the decision for me:

If you punch in the original tyre details (245/40/17) and then the tyres dimensions I finally went for (225/45/17) you will find that they are the closest match in terms of rolling radius.

I went for Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics and they grip like hell, I would strongly recommend them.
