Hi Andy,

Just saw your other post re the n/s window fault, so I presume you bought this one:-

I was also considering this car, but as I said I am really after a RS blue example. Congratulations on your purchase anyway.

I spoke to the guy when he first advertised the car and got a lot of information from him. It would appear that most of the car has been painted from what he said, but he said the interior needed a bit of a clean up as he used the car for his business and he is a painter and decorator. (I'm sure it doesn't mean it's covered in paint.)

The guy said that a friend of his was looking at the window fault and they had already replaced the motor and switch, so that should eliminate them. I did mention to him that it could be a problem with the wiring between the door and the pillar or a relay (which is about all that's left really!)

He gave me a long list of the things he's had done with the car so hopefully you'll not have to spend a fortune on it (new tyres, discs and pads within the last 2000 miles, door trims, new suspension, exhaust manifold, battery)

I'll probably regret not following up on my initial enquiry now as you start to post how much you enjoy the car.

Just had another thought. It could also be the drivers side passenger window switch.

I seem to remember a similar problem on my S4 which turned out to be corrosion in the switch on the drivers side. I think there's some sort of in-line wiring through the switch so that you can't press the "up" on the drivers side while the passenger side "down" is pressed(and vice-versa), and cause damage to the motor.

Of course I could be totally wrong, but worth checking anyway. :drink:
