996 brake upgrade

Post by ur-s4 » Sat Mar 15, 2008 12:05 pm

Hello

I'm going to upgrade my small reds to 996tt calipers but can I use disc 330x34 also? I'm going to use the original 17" rims.

what about the rear calipers. Is it possible to upgrade these with 996tt rear calipers or will the brake balance be bad?

You won't get them under the original 17" rims. Look at AMDs website for a really useful list of what fits under what diameter rim. I had a choice of 4 and 6 pot GT3 brakes, but neither would go under 17" rims with the right size discs. The original 17" rims have a bulky cross section right on the line of the caliper where the spokes join the rim.

Go 18" - you know you want to!

Sorry but GT3 4 pot (and 6 pot) both fit under the stock RS2 wheel

That's a custom made carrier courtesy of Corey's firm Quattronics.
