I'm in the process of changing to 18" wheels on my RS2 and I'm shortlisting suitable tyres. The car has mainly summer use (dry!) and my priorities are dry weather handling/grip and quiet running.
So far I'm looking at P zero Nero's, P zero rosso/corsas and Michelin pilot sport 2's.
Does anyone have any experience with these ?

RE: Tyre advice needed.
I had p zero Neros originally on my RS and they tramlined like mad. Switched to the PS2s and haven't looked back. Great grip and hard wearing. Maybe not the quietest but then again, the engine is louder than the tires so no worries!

More tyre dilemmas, kwik fit are doing 25% off ContiSport rubber when you buy 4 new ones. Still a lot of money at £125 each. Mine are getting to the point I'll need to replace a set or rears soonish but I fancy some new ones anyway. Pirelli or Michelins would be first choice but to buy 4 of those is too much money, so does anyone run these CONTI-SPORTS and do you have any thoughts on what they're like?

P Zero Nero 94Y rating IMHO are the best all round tyre I have used on the RS2 (and S2 before) over many brands over 10 years. I am not alone in that view. Tramlining is not usually down to tyre type but pressures and tracking.

I also run Pirelli Nero 225/45ZR17 on my RS2 and have no issues with tracking - as Alastair says tramlining is normalyy related to other issues such as pressure, tracking and worn suspension components.
The characteristics of the Pirelli Nero tyre in this size for the RS2 work really well - the tyre has little road noise, produces a compliant ride which works well with the RS2 suspension, provides impressive dry and wet road grip and handling and as far as I can see relatively good wear characteristics.

Well I bought Michelin Ps 2. There're great with a nice light feel compared to the Goodyears. I think they'll last longer too, the cost was £ 107 each fitted. Not bad I thought. I recommend you don't have a v shaped tread as this wore prematuely quickly with me on the F1's.
