Erm, on the finish side, i beg to differ on that one. Audi interiors are many times better than porsche's a lot of the time, push the boundaries in terms of design and technology.

I'd say sitting in a SQ5 vs a Macan, the difference in finish & in terms of being up to date, the difference is huge. Porsche wins hands down. I've not been inside an RSQ3 so I can't comment. I think The SQ5's interior is now so dated it totally lets the car down sadly.....
It's all torque talk.

Yep Audi interiors are not what they once were.

My Jag XF S interior knocks the socks of my sisters Q5 I just sold. It felt cheap and designed by a man with no imagination.

There are Audi interiors then there are Luxury interiors.

Audi is not a luxury brand.

Affordable is not premium and premium is not affordable

The A1 and A3 kill any premiumness Audi think they have.

Posh VW

Audi interiors are not great- I did snigger at the xf comment - the jag interior hasn't changed much since launch - vents that move and a raising gearknob was great in 2008 but not now - quality wise I laugh when I get in a 2014 jag(he says not wearing pipe and slippers). Compared to porche I will bow down...!!!

A leather covered dash is a luxury interior vs the swathe of black plastic in an Audi

Mine has red stitching and carbon fibre inserts

I've had a lot of Audi's and I rate my XF interior as superior to them all in terms of luxury feel and comfort.

Lol - love a bit of controversy, so my 996tt was worse than an audi back then, but thats not why you buy a 911. Having said that the b8 interior imho isn't the best either, but again that's not why you buy a b8. Ive just passed a s class merc on the m40, omg thise screens are just AWESOME. I have to agree the macan interior is lovely, but the outside for me is boring. Horses for courses, i just like things that go quick :-)

My E60 M5 had a full leather dash & door trims etc over 10yrs ago (was on 05). & although quite nice, i wouldn't have wanted to be the person who'd paid £6k to spec that option. If it's standard then so be it, but i'd hazard a guess if it's thrown in then the leather won't be very high quality.

Isn't Jag still just posh Ford?

Now their exteriors i do rate highly, but interiors are no better/worse than any other car in the same price bracket. The biggest difference is where in the model lifecycle each car is as the Q5 is now a leggy model so will have a somewhat dated interior when viewed against newer metal. Our Q5 was a 59 plate & back then was very current with it's Panoramic Roof & B&O tunes, whereas nowadays pretty much any car can be spec'd with such a roof (even Fords).

Jag a posh Ford? Yawn.

Audi is a posh Skoda.

My new XE will have a leather topped dash which is superior to competitors in the segment as none of them offer it.

The Germans make very competent cars, but do make me yawn.

Are yawn & true basically the same DK (referring to Ford/Skoda, not your comment on German cars)? I'm totally aware of the VAG heritage :bigblink:

I'm sure your leather topped dash comes at a cost (somewhere in the price) & many other cars have this as an option, although with the XE being a very very new model i'm not 100% sure which range it aligns with but i'm sure the 3 & 4 Series have this option & the 5 series certainly does. The 5 Series had this as an option well over 10 years ago so although a nice feature, it's hardly Jaguar breaking a mould.

Also being honest, the XE is so brand new that comparing it to an established model isn't really fair as you'd expect it to have some nice new features. Same applied to things such as Panoramic Roof, HUD & Dynamic Seating etc. Stuff on my car i'd never seen before but now available on a wider range of cars, Integrated Apps (Connected Drive) so Napster, GoPro, Spotify, Track LapTimer, Facebook & Twitter to name a few are displayed on the iDrive display. Online place of interest photos for my SatNav destination. Navigation direct from websites & the ability to create routes in Google Maps (such as the Evo Triangle) & upload as a Route file to the car. None of these were available in the range similar Audi's & Mercs when i bought my M5, but of course some of them are now.

I love the current range of Jags & like many am excited about what's round the corner, but i don't see their interiors as any more ground breaking than any other similar proved brand. New XE will look very modern, outgoing XF not so (although still a nice place to sit).

I respect your opinion but all I can say is I have had my XF S 8months, 19,000 miles and I kid you not it is the most comfortable car I have every driven yet I still enjoy every journey, genuinely.

The rear tyres are nearing 2mm now so the back end is getting a bit frisky which only adds to the excitement!
