How to get a MRC stage 2 when living in Norway?

Post by Quattro_RS6 » Mon May 15, 2017 7:53 pm

Hi!

The ferry from Norway to UK is no longer operative, so there would be 3700km/2300miles roadtrip to get to Banbury.

That's not going to happen, so is there any options?

Can i get a 99% good-to-go SW sent to a local tuner to remap my car?
Can i send my ECU to Banbury to get a the new SW installed?

Thanks for any help.

The stage 2 remap is set up on a rolling road so won't be able to send the software to a local tuner or flash to your ECU without the car. Theroetically they can but then it wouldn't be the stage 2 tune you want and you might as well get any generic tune (well not quite). It is their expertise in fine tuning their generic tune that makes them the leaders, but yes their base map untuned is probably still leagues above others.
I do seem to recall they had a way of tuning in France or Italy though..?

Doug does the mapping in the UK and i think Mihnea does remapping over in Europe. If you're on Facebook, why not ask him?

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I have asked if there is a MRC tuner in mainland Europe, but they do not have that.

I have asked again now if there is a possibility to send my ECU to UK for remapping.

As stated above here, if I can get a engine/gearbox tune that is 99% good, meaning over 700PS/1000NM i would be happy and have one of the fastest cars around ;)

MTM engine/gearbox tune in Norway is 2700 pounds.. So i could almost go to UK and back for a much better tune from MRC for the same price... MRC stage 2 incl. gearbox is 1300 pounds.

Yes I'd rather drive across Europe for the MRC map rather than an MTM on my doorstep.
