Post by H20MRV » Sat Mar 19, 2016 6:08 pm

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a 2014 RS4 Avant with 2k miles and am thinking about a remap, what kind of results can i expect and will this remove the top speed limiter?

Not a lot mate and imo not worth it unless you are going to stick a charger on it which is 10k minimum.

At the end of the day, this is already an amazing high revving NA lump. If you feel you need more horses, you probably arent driving it as it should be ......

And yes, MRC can remove limiter, but in this country, not much point. Get a mapped C6 or C7 if its land speed records you are after. B8 is a B road muncher

I stuck mine on the rollers at MRC, made 429PS with a Milltek @ 15k miles. Speaking to Doug after he thinks 465 - 470ps is possible with a map and a clean.

Assume you've not got the raised factory limiter, then limiter can be removed but it's not going to do much more than 175 indicated anyway.

Doesn't the B8 map make it a much better car to drive like it does on the B7? Remaps on NA cars are about using the power better and having the power available more often rather than the increase in total power. Ask Gaz (Noyjatat), he has had an MRC map on his RS5, he will be able to tell you if it is worth it or not.

I think it's worth having the s tronic map and leaving the stage 2. Mine was 422 on the rollers at the start and finished at 460. That included full carbon clean, ITG filters, stage 2 remap, exhaust (not inc downpipes), gearbox remap. Down pipes may give a little more but Doug said they were pretty free flowing and I like to keep my cars road legal.

Cheers Guys,

I don't pick it up until Monday but i am very much a b road blaster but i would be cross if it got to 155 and started hitting the limiter :bash:

The RS5 i have just traded in was a surprisingly good car, before that i had X2 C63s and x2 E92 M3s X2 997 C2Ss X1 996TT X1 GTR 35 and all and sundry other things !!( the M3s were mapped, has exhaust systems, BBKs ect ) so were quick but the grip of the RS5 was amazing!! and would pull 175 on the Road angel so i presume the limiter had been lifted?

And as long as i could get the same power and top speed as the RS5 i would be happy, It seemed the best way to get that would be a MTC map with a Miltek or Akrorpvic fitted for good measure !!

I presume the RS4 is a more nimble tattie?

Thanks for the ideas, any ideas welcome : )

I think Gaz agreed with you. He said go for the gearbox map but not the stage 2 engine map?

I will have a dig around for the receipts tomorrow and post the exact costs buddy. I haven't been anywhere near the limiter to be honest, 152 is the most I have had but that was on the speedo. Saying that I haven't been anywhere with enough road to get it nearer the top end.

My b8 sails past the stock limiter of 155 on my car. Had 170 on GPS from it.
Audi are somewhat loose with their limiters. Bugger paying for the 174mph limiter raise from new!
